COLLEGE
INTERNSHIP FUND - "CIF"
|
|
| When
you contribute to EarthTraces or attend an activity, you are helping
educate young men and women for a lifetime of service to Christ and
community. Because
most of our equipment comes through the generous contributions of
sponsors, the net proceeds from ALL contributions collected go into the EarthTraces
College Internship Fund ("CIF"). Many of the people you
meet from EarthTraces are college interns learning how to teach and work
in a real-life ministry while earning class credits and funds for their
education. |
|
 |
 |
| Of the funds placed in the CIF, 60% goes to direct intern
support, 20% for local ministry support, 15% to ministry administration and 5% to national ministry
support. |

INTERN POSITIONS FOR 2006! |
 |
FULL TIME SUMMER and/or PART-TIME ALL YEAR ROUND! LET US
KNOW ASAP IF YOU'RE INTERESTED! |

If
you are a Christian attending college and are studying for a career in
ministry, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, outdoor recreation, education or a related field - consider
making EarthTraces your ministry in 2005. EarthTraces provides one of the
best compensation packages available (interns can make up over $8,000 in
our 100-day program --- OVER TWO TIMES the standard rate for summer
internships) and you will have an incredible opportunity to work
with hundreds of youth while gaining real life work experience that will
help prepare you for your future. Previous experience is not necessary,
only a passion for the outdoors and a heart to serve! Our program
qualifies for college job or internship class credits and if you're local
to the St. Louis area you can even work part-time throughout the year!
Send your resume now!
Here's
how it typically works: In the Spring you'll be asked to attend one or two
weekend workshops or events so you can learn the skills needed. Then while
you're working the internship, you'll be working onsite at churches and
other organizations helping with outreach, fellowship and teambuilding
events. These are great ways to share our faith with others - and show
believers and non-believers that God can be fun! (Some of these events get
big - with up to 10,000 people attending!) Then you're off taking groups on life
experience trips. These are adventures they will not soon forget - rappelling,
rockclimbing, rafting,
caving, hiking and
more. You'll camp overnight with them and help lead discussions which will
bring everyone to a closer understanding of Christ and each person's
purpose in God's creation. From the Appalachians to the Rockies, you'll
meet great people and see incredible sights! While you don't need previous
adventure sports experience (we will teach you these), a passion for the
Outdoors and showing it to others are a must. Mechanical skills, music,
acting, speaking and other skills that can be helpful in conducting
overnight experiences in nature will be helpful. Preference is also given
to those with large vehicle driving experience and clean driving records. Consider this
opportunity! Email us at: .

management and development tasks. Through a unique mentoring program,
you will be guided in your learning of administrative and management
tasks within an on-going, real world ministry. You will also have numerous
opportunities to travel to sites from the Rockies to the East to conduct activities and spiritual lessons in

and others. Onsite challenge ("festival-type") programs
provide exceptional opportunities for fellowship and outreach to

development and performance of our
in-nature and on-site ministries. Transportation, program equipment
and all program expenses are provided.

CREDIT: |
|
The
EarthTraces 100-day program qualifies for internship credit at many
universities and we provide the needed supervision and documentation
to track performance. Have your counselor contact our intern
coordinator if there are any questions.

 |
| TIME
COMMITMENT: |
|
Full-time
Position: 100-day commitment, of which 80+ are during the summer
months of May through August). There is a minimum of 1-day off a week
and no more than 10-days on assignment in a row (unless by voluntary
agreement). Part-time Position: Fill-in anytime year-round as your
schedule permits. However, once you commit to an activity you are
responsible for it! (A person working less than the 100-day commitment
is considered part-time.) A typical work day is 9-10 hours including
breaks, but can increase when staffing an event or traveling. Work
over 14 hours staffing an event or traveling in a day is counted as
1-1/2 days. You are given much opportunity to select and share in
assignments as well as receiving additional days off if wanted when
activities are covered. This must be weighed against your 100-day
commitment and the award received upon reaching it.

Time-Off.
 |
Time-off
for personal business or travel, or medical reasons are granted
(within reason) provided scheduled activities have proper
coverage and the loss of staff would not damage the ministry's
performance. The ministry's respect and service to Christ may
not be compromised. Time-off should always be requested as far
in advance as possible.
 |
| Day
of Rest. |
Day
of Rest. One day of rest will be given per week. Because we are
a ministry and many of our programs are on weekends, this may
not be a Saturday or Sunday. While the day off will typically be
the day before or after an event that requires work on a Sunday,
this will depend upon the ministry's commitments and may be
delayed if needed.
 |
| Schedules. |
Schedules.
Time-Off and the Day of Rest should be requested no later than
noon on the Friday before they are to occur, prior to the
completion of the next week's work schedule on Friday afternoon.
Exceptions will be made in the case of emergency or illness.
When efforts are ahead of schedule, staff will periodically be
given an opportunity for extra time off. |
| Assignments. |
You
will be working in an operating support ministry. The days can
be hot, the work hard and the hours long. DO NOT apply for a
position if you are unwilling to "do what it takes" to
get the job done! |
|
 |

cash awards applicable to educational costs or taken in another form)

the form of taxable wages or non-taxable tuition reimbursements.

Full-day/
half-day.
 |
Compensation
is based upon full-days or half-days. A full-day is 8 or more
hours, a half-day is 4-8 hours. There is no compensation for
less than a half-day (this is considered fully a contribution of
time to the ministry). Half-days are compensated at ½ the daily
rate.
 |
| Awards. |
Awards
are calculated and made available after the 1st of each fiscal
quarter (Oct. 1, Jan 1, Apr 1 and Jul 1). No awards are paid to
persons who voluntarily separate or who are separated for cause
from EarthTraces before the end of the quarter. (Remaining on
"if available/if needed" service basis is not
considered separation.)
